East Lyme Police Cadets, Inc.

Social goals
This program is designed to give youth (male/female) between the ages of 13-20 an insight into the career field of Law Enforcement. We hope to be able to create & foster friendships between the youth members and police officers as well as amongst their peers.

Youth members who successfully complete the program, may be able to acquire jobs in the field of law enforcement easier than those that did not participate, due to the fact that active members build their resumes' while participating in a fun and demanding program.

Members in good standing are able to obtain 1/3 off tuition to Goodwin College and an additional $8,000-$10,000 off the college tuition if they commit to Goodwin College during their senior year.

While in this program, youth members will learn about the state and federal laws, community service, handcuffing, motor vehicle stops, DUI enforcement, baton, firearms safety, crime scene investigation, fingerprinting, team work and discipline.

Many past members have gone on into various military and law enforcement careers and have stated that the Cadet Program was part of the reason.
